"Speed up your metabolism and lose weight easily" it says on the cover of this glossy book. Sounds very doable.
The Metabolic Clock is not a diet book (and we are not very 'diet' book friendly at Flourish) so that's a blessing.
What it is is however is a book that explains 'How to speed up your metabolism to burn body fat and create more energy' (step 1), 'How to create the motivation to attain your weight loss and wellness goals' (step 2) and how to get started and gain momentum (step 3).
There are 100 healthy, delicious looking recipes to try, and a menu planning section to go along with the Metabolic Clock's 21-Day Lifestyle Challenge.
Reading this book reminded me of some basic good health practices that I'd let slip over the last few years of busy life such as the importance of a decent amount of 'before midnight' sleep, preferably before 10pm (page 31) and how too much coffee is detrimental to one's health for a number of reasons including that caffeine 'kills' good bacteria - ouch (page 41)!
The focus on the book is not just about weight loss. It's about gaining health and energy and getting the most out of life.
The Metabolic Clock is available at all good bookstores or online. Visit www.metabolicclock.com.
