It's all over Twitter that liver transplant recipient Claire Murray has died in the Singapore hospital where she received the new liver - her second.

Regardless of one's personal beliefs about drug addiction, whether she should have had a second chance or not, health care and organ donation in general, the death of Claire has left grieving and bereaved parents, family and two innocent children.  Perhaps this was her time to leave this world, yet still, I feel deep sympathy for those left behind.

As someone said on Twitter 'Talkback radio rejoices' - this will be a big topic in the coming week.

What do you think?  Let's hear the Flourish community thoughts on the matter and post or reply to a comment below.

Blessings,

Very sad news, especially for her parents and her children. I know it will be little consolation for her family that she got to have the final surgery because she's no longer here for them to love. I for one am glad she had another shot at life and deeply sorry that it wasn't successful.

I agree with you Jane. All love and sympathy should be directed to the family who lost their family member. It doesn't matter how or why someone dies, or the cost.

I watched "7 Nightly News" in horror when they showed the sick comments published on Facebook. Channel Seven should be fined and the producer/editor sacked for including that in their broadcast.

We query and stand back in horror when our children use "Facebook", "My Space" and texting as form of bullying and abuse, then our mainstream media use "Talkback Radio" and cite Facebook as the measure of "Community" feeling.

The death of anyone in whatever circumstance is very sad for family and friends concerned.

Who ever said on Twitter "talk back radio rejoices" is so wrong. Not all journalists are the same. Geoff and his team on ABC 720 talk back radio in the morning deliberately did not cover this matter too much in respect for the family. BUt it was head line news that day so it was mentioned briefly.

Before her death Geoff gave the family a chance to speak on National radio. His interview was sensitive and touching. I have the upmost respect for the ABC journalists.

If its newsworthy papers, magazines, tv and radio will cover it after all it is the job of those people. I'm just choosy about what I read and listen too and the rest can go in the bin.

To generalise is so easy.
