Basic Pancake Recipe
1 cup plain flour
1 1/3 cups milk
pinch of salt
- Sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl.
- Create a well in the centre and break in the egg.
- Slowly add the milk on top of the egg while using a whisk to mix in the flour gradually from the sides to the centre of the bowl in a circular motion. Continue until all the milk is finished and no flour remains.
- Leave mixture to sit for up to an hour.
- Heat up a frypan (a dedicated pancake pan is ideal) to a medium heat.
- Add a little butter and swirl pan around to cover. Remove any excess with a paper towel.
- Pour a 1/2 cup or so mixture into the pan and wait until bubbles appear.
- Turn over and cook the other side.
- Repeat until mixture finished.
- Keep stack of pancakes warm in a low oven or cook, serve and eat as you go!
Enjoy with lemon and sugar or bananas with maple syrup.
